Pensacola Aglow - Tea Time

The Pensacola Aglow Community Lighthouse held a beautiful Thanksgiving Tea Party on Thursday, Nov. 19. Each table was beautifully decorated with delicate china cups/ plates, colorful linen napkins. Fresh roses were attractively arranged on each table. We were escorted table by table to a buffet of the most delicious goodies you have ever tasted.Candlelight, violin and keyboard music played in the background...The tea was imported from England and women who were servers came to each table with a choice of three teas. The main point is that God was honored as 78 women attended, many first timers...They had to turn some women away who called at the last minute as the room in the church fellowship hall would not hold any more tables.

The President, Nita gave a very good presentation of what Aglow is about. Linda, an Aglow officer and a former teacher, gave a short history of the beginning of "tea time" in England and ended up with why we had 4 grains of corn at each plate to represent how some of the early pilgrims to America survived their second Thanksgiving here. Two women gave short testimonies. Ruth, also a former teacher, told how she and her women are reaching those in jail and how rewarding it is to pray for their salvation and healing; Ruth is coming on as a new board member. Pat, a newcomer to Aglow who attended her first Aglow Conference in Louisville, gave a very compelling testimony explaining how she fell into a curio cabinet at her home when she got up one night this past Feb. feeling dizzy. The shattered glass cut her throat, voice box and she could have bled to death. Delicate surgery was done immediately. She was told she might never speak again...but her voice was clear and not damaged. It was truly a miracle testimony. Each speaker did an outstanding job.

When the event was over no woman wanted to get up and leave...the presence of the Lord was there...friend brought friend. We are so happy about the progress of the Pensacola Aglow since 8 from there attended the Aglow Conference and they plan to meet monthly now. There was so much talent in the room the night of the candlelight tea party. Those of us on the Area Leadership Team said we were overwhelmed with what was accomplished by those Aglow leaders who worked so hard to put on the Thanksgiving Tea.. It was outstanding. Awesome. Amazing. And for me it was a fun event!!! I believe God was pleased with the creativity expressed and the Christian fellowship that was experienced.
